New Adventure

For the last ten years I have called Manhattan home, but the end of May or the beginning of June we will be moving out of Manhattan. Lance has been teaching and coaching at White City High School for the last five years. He interviewed at Hillsboro for the head football and math opening. They offered him the job and Lance gladly accepted. This a big change for us and I'm a bit nervous to say the least. I know the ins and outs of Manhattan area and now we will be moving somewhere with no familiar  faces or places to go.  Manhattan holds a huge place in my heart, but we will be here tons with KSU activities and such. I started packing up boxes Monday night and had to hold back a few tears. I still can't decide if it's because we have SO much crap or because this was our first home as a couple and family.

We have always wanted to raise Lilah in a smaller community and more like how we were brought up. This is giving us the opportunity and when I think of that I'm very excited!! Plus I'm thinking way in the future, Lilah won't want to go to KSU if she grows up in Manhattan, right??  Who would want to stay in the same town as their parents being a college student?  Another plus is we will be right around the corner from family. Lance's family is in McPherson and my parents will be about an hour and half. Lets face it they aren't getting any younger and pretty soon I'll be driving to take care of them, right Mom and Dad? This gives many more opportunities for Lilah to grow up surrounded by her family!! So if that means giving up the location of Manhattan, we are all in!

We are looking at renting in Hillsboro with the possibility of fixing up an old farmhouse that Lance's family owns outside of McPherson area. The idea of renting for close to a year does not excite me, but the finished project of the farmhouse will be home sweet home once done. Hopefully we will know more in the next couple of weeks.

First picture of the move!! To think most of this stuff is from my storage room, I still have a whole house to pack. YIKES
