Green Cleaning

I have been slowly converting to making all my own cleaning supplies. I'm not doing it to be "Green" as they say, I just like the simplicity of the products.
Here are a few I have tried so far:

All Purpose Cleaner:

1 Cup white distilled vinegar
3 Cups water
10 Drops of essential oil
(I use Lemon Grass)

I make this cleaner in an old cleaner bottle. Fill your bottle with 1 cup vinegar. Next add your three cups of water and essential oil. Put the nozzle back on a shake.
I ended up not liking the smell of vinegar so I added a little more of the Lemon Grass.

I ordered the lemon grass off Amazon.

Also I use the the lemon grass as a home fresher. I boil some water in a pan and drop about 10 drops of the oil in. Let it boil for about 15 minutes. Smells amazing!!

Laundry Detergent:

4lb box of Baking Soda
4lb Box of Borax
4lb Box of Super Washing Soda
3 bars of Fels Naptha Soap

Using a cheese grater, grate the soap. Some said to grate really fine, but I didn't and it has turned out ok. I mixed a little bit of each ingredient one at a time and repeat. That way you have 4 layers of the  combined ingredients.

I use about 1/3 cup of soap per load.

I bought all products at Walmart.

Bath Room Cleaner:

12 ounce White Vinegar
12 ounce Blue Dawn dish soap

I heated the vinegar in the microwave until hot and poured into a bottle(old cleaner bottle) and then added dish soap. I'm not a huge fan of this yet, so I may be looking for a new recipe or just use the all purpose cleaner I already use. The reason I don't really like it is the smell, I'm big on smells!! It does clean well though.

Toilet Bowl Cleaner:

1 cup White Vinegar
1 cup Baking Soda

I flush the toilet first. Then I pour the baking soda into the bowl and scrub a little. I then pour the vinegar after the water as filled back up and let the soda and vinegar foam a little. I then let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then scrub again.
I haven't been using a whole cup of baking soda, only about 1/2 a cup to save a little and it seems to be working just as good.

I went to Sam's and bought Baking Soda and Vinegar in bulk

I have also been using Baking Soda to clean my oven inside and out. I have a glass top oven. I pour baking soda on top, soak a towel in hot water, set it on top of the baking soda for about 15 minutes and then scrub and wipe clean. I use a little steel wool for hard spots.  For the inside I mix Baking Soda and water in a bowl to make a paste and then scrub with steel wool. Works great, but still not fun to clean:)

This is all I have tried lately. I'm waiting for the rest of my cleaning supplies to run out before I replace them. The next products I plan on making are:

Dusting Spray
Wood Floor Cleaner
Floor Cleaner
Window Cleaner
Dishwasher Detergent

There a few store bought cleaners I will probably never want to give up such as Lysol Wipes, Lysol Spray, and Febreze spray.

I will let you know how they all turn out!!

Let me know if anyone has home cleaners they make and love!! I'm always love trying new recipes!!
